I am a senior at the University of Pennsylvania graduating with my degree in Systems Engineering this spring. I have been working in the Kodlab since freshman year and been active in the following areas:
My partners, Cameron Finucane and Helen Kim, and I have been developing a project entitled “IMU-Filtered GPS navigation for EduBot.” GPS is a great tool for determining global location, but is only accurate to about 10m and is insufficient for a small robot like EduBot. To remedy this, we will be integrating an inertial motion unit (IMU) and GPS onto the robot to determine highly-accurate relative position as well as less-accurate global position. We will use the data from these sources to determine accurate global position and develop EduBot navigation based on this data.
