Past Projects

RHex Project: A biologically inspired running robot designed for robust operation in complex, natural, outdoor terrain. Subprojects include EduBot, SandBot, and DesertRHex. The latest version, XRHex, continues to be active in the lab.

RiSE Project: A biologically inspired robot designed for vertical climbing in addition to horizontal locomotion. Subprojects include RiSE V2, RiSE V3 and DynoClimber.

 
  • RHex - Biologically inspired general purpose hexapod locomotion platform.
  • RiSE - Biologically inspired general purpose climbing robot.
    • RiSEV2 - A hexapedal version of the RiSE robot
    • RiSEV3 - A Quadrupedal version of the RiSE robot, with greater power density.
    • DynoClimber - Biologically inspired dynamic climbing robot.
